The past few days were filled with a whirlwind of buzzing information. Altitude Summit does a grand job of bringing together brilliant keynote speakers and excellent tip-giving panelists {here is an excellent huffington post piece claiming the blogosphere as the new bohemia}. Not to mention the non-stop laughter, catching up, and inspiring chatter amongst new and old friends {estelle, jeanne, kimberly, courtney, katie, melissa, brandi, melisa, and beefy}.
I didn't play the role of a wallflower this year thanks to the kick-in-the-pants support from a very favorite person {she always seems to know what's best}. Hoping there are some positive outcomes with the contacts made.
If I had to sum up my experience, it would be with a quote from Anne Sage, "embrace the fire within". Ideas and goals are raging inside, and I'm going to follow the blazing trail. I'll be taking a mini-hiatus from this space while the embers settle. I'm prepping myself for a new yoga class I'll be teaching beginning next week as well as planning a birthday party for a sweet little crumb who will soon be 4.
Wide open spaces never looked so good.

Glad you had time to go and to meet up and soak up all the energy at ALT.
ReplyDeleteWishing you much goodness in settling in and celebrating what truly is so important, every day, every year and honoring those you love.
What a stunning image and wow to wide open spaces and time to bask in them.

I was a definite wallflower last year although I ended up making great friends along the way...this year I couldn't make it but it seems like it was fabulous! Looking forward to being there next year!
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like an amazing time, and I love the idea of wide open spaces--so much room for possibilities. xo Gigi
ReplyDeleteYou sound positively inspired Mel! Add more to your present positivity and I can see why you need some space to let the embers settle, Space is good and the stretch will be good for you I am sure. I would love to have you teach me yoga, so sad that you are so far away. I do need to be alert for all these blogger events, darn it, I never hear anything where I am located. Much love. Xo and xo
ReplyDeleteembrace the fire within ties in nicely with my "word" for this coming year. So so glad you had an enriching experience at ALT. Let's share soon, yes?

Embrace the fire within. Yes, I think we were all changed a bit by that moment. So good. Take the time you need, Mel. Rest, reflect, recharge. I know you've got good stuff brewing.
ReplyDeleteAbsorbing all the information is exciting and a bit overwhelming, isn't it? So inspiring!
ReplyDeleteMel, it was such an honor meeting you. You are absolutely the kindest, sweetest, most thoughtful person who is doing so many good things in her life! You inspire me!

I'm so jealous! I'd love to go sometime. I'm glad you enjoyed t. I absolutely adore this photo as well; I'm getting tired of the city and would just love to stand in a field.
ReplyDeleteOne of my favorite things about our time at Alt -- besides seeing you, obviously -- was coming home with a renewed vision and sense of purpose. I feel like I'm dreaming bigger than ever before, thinking outside the box, and I'm determined to make my dreams come true -- and help other people do the same in the process.
ReplyDeleteLucky you! It sounds like such a lovely weekend...
