A friend of mine has a photo of Sophia Loren in a long ball gown with some sort of machine, like a leaf blower, and I have always loved her power, her beauty and her delectable voice... lovely photo and quote! pve
I just woke up and thought I'd check a few blogs. One of the first ones I see this morning is yours--what a way to greet the day! This is just what I need to get me going. Thanks, as always, for the inspiration. xo
Mel, such a lovely quote and so true!! I'm turning 44 soon and have never felt younger or better. It is because I'm happy, creative, energetic and loved. have a wonderfuly day Bunny
I love sophia loren. I did a blog post once where I made one of her pasta recipes, its awesome. http://www.donutstodelirium.com/2009/06/sophia-lorens-pasta-recipe.html
That photograph is beautiful. I thought that the answer to eternal youth was chocolate, ice cream, cocktails and wine..that's where I've been going wrong !!! XXXX
Wonderful quote! Right after reading this, I read a post about celebrating Bannie's 100th birthday (on the blog Paris Hotel Boutique Journal). The two blogs seemed to fit each other perfectly.
"Giving. Generous. Sweet. Outgoing. Curious. Selfless. Wise. Bannie has the spirit of a young person. She is excitable and the smallest of things make her happy."
Sophia Loren is a wise and beautiful woman. I really like this quore. It's so true. It's really thoughts and ideas that keep us young. Imagination and creativity are available to everyone, not just young people.
Thank you Mel! And Congrats to you as well, as you were awarded by the lovely DJ too! Great words of wisdom... :)
The pie was chocolate pudding with whip cream, we had to find the bubble gum inside and blow a bubble the fastest. Oh and with no hands! I have a photo somewhere! ;)
thank god!!! this is such a nice perspective! lately i have been fretting that my face is starting to look like an old catcher's mitt. hopefully it isn't! and/if when it is, i can fall back on this other stuff. :)
thank you most thoughtful mel ~ your posting reminded me of the time we planted a young tree next to our great grandad's summer home. he was 90 at the time and his comment was ... "how nice ~ a tree to grow so i can nap in it's shade!" he was youthful and optimistic til his last breath at 97 ... and we loved him so ... smiling, prairiegirl
I just saw the gorgeous Merci Beaucoup letterpressed cards over on English Muse, and I thought of you! Hope you're having a lovely weekend, lovely lady.
Oh Sweet Mel- I LOVE this. While I am 48-eeeks I am really 32. That is my story and I stick to it. It is a state of mind. Having children with such a wide span btween-I can see oddly, that when my older two were tots I was much more mommish in every sense of that word(mom jeans etc) Now that I am considered an older mom I find I can be tens times more hip than many of the moms out there that are 15 years younger. It is indeed ALL a state of mind and a state of my happiness with myself. Love to you Sweets.
Thank-you for stopping by my humble little blog. Your comment is bang on the money. I owed my own restaurant for 20 years and let me tell you some of my employee's priceless.
I love your blog. I absolutely love the french themes everywhere. I speak french fluently. It's so nice to see someone with a passion for all things french.
I'm planning a three month trip to Paris next June. I'm so looking forward to it. I may stay 6 months, I haven't quite yet finalized the details.
