There are weddings, and then there ARE weddings ~ Beth and Bill's special day of love uniting seriously takes the prize for the most magical and memorable wedding I have ever had the pleasure of attending (and being a part of!).
Truly filled with organic bliss from the moment the invitation arrived until the bride and groom pedaled off into happily-ever-after. Nature provided the backdrop to this perfect wedding ~ the ceremony took place within the organic vegetable garden which is grown with love by the Bride's mother and father [one of my favorite people in the entire world], a cellist playing the most beautiful music amidst the green bounty, turkeys and chickens adding their cheerful songs in the distant background, organic | local | seasonal food served underneath a 300-year-old Oak tree, and a stunning bride and groom so perfectly made for one another that one begins to believe that fairy-tales do exist.
I was honored to bake the wedding cakes [3 vanilla cakes layered with lemon curd, 1 coconut cake, 1 chocolate cake with mocha frosting, and carrot cake cupcakes with cream-cheese frosting], and to see them beautifully displayed upon the Jadeite cake stands was a total delight! Among the many details that made this love affair so special was the fact that everything was so natural, so real, so made-with-love | decorated with love | organized with love by the blissful couple and those who love them [and you must take a peek at the behind-the-scenes here].

Pure magic, Melissa! I can't imagine a lovelier wedding. When I think of the best weddings I've attended, they were the most homegrown, least wedding-plannerish affairs. I love it when a couple creates a wedding that reflects who they really are. And your cakes look absolutely divine, my sweet!
ReplyDeleteOff to check out the links! xoxo Gigi

ReplyDeletesuch a lovely wedding and the images are so well taken... have a nice one!
ReplyDelete1.Mel's cakes already had already gotten themselves a reputation for being highly tasty in our neck of the woods-- I had not personally sampled one but knew they came with rave, rave reviews.
ReplyDelete2. Wedding cakes tend to be quite tall and ornamental, and in my experience, they pay for this with flavor. When the subject of cake first entered into our wedding planning, my entire family unanimously decided this was the opportunity for Melissa to swoop in and make cakes that were both beautiful AND delicious.
3. It was a great decision. Those cakes were, hands down, the most delicious cakes I've ever had in my life. No exaggerating. I also would kill for the recipe, because they are, quite literally, the stuff my dreams are made of.
The morning after the wedding, Bill and I decided we should probably stop by my parents house and "pick up gifts", which was (we admitted to each other later) code for "see if there's any more cake left".
Mel, you and your beautiful family are as lovely in life as you are in your photos--it was incredibly, incredibly special to celebrate with you. We feel very blessed to have you in our lives.
simple, chic and full of love... everything a wedding should be.
ReplyDeletethose cakes are gorgeous. well done miss mel!
OMG, if Bill and I ever renew our vows, I want a pink dress - and a pink cake made by you to match!
ReplyDeleteThis is just lovely.
