Evening Strolls ~

One of the many things I love about Europe is how people go out for evening strolls before or after dinner.  It's so civilized {and healthy} don't you think?

Even with the recent time change and darkness blanketing the sky so early in the evening, we still try to make an effort to get out and walk around our little town.

It's a whole new take on your surroundings when the light begins to fade or the paths are lit by the light of the moon.  Somehow, I believe these nightly strolls add a sprinkle of peace and calm to the day ~ an ideal ending if you ask me.

  3. I can't tell you how often I used the word "civilized" while I was there last week. Truly, life is incredibly civilized in France - even in the countryside!
    Happy weekend mon amie!

  4. Ah yes, I love late afternoon/evening strolls. It is so calming, and it always puts me into the deepest sleep when I lay down for the night. That's one of the things I truly lo. ve about Europe, that walking is part of the culture, as is taking in the moment. Some of my happiest memories were made walking along the Seine at night, or strolling through the latin quarter

  6. I think once I move, I'm going to start doing this every night -- even if it's only around the block. It's hard to do at my parents' home because we have no sidewalks and busy roads, but your neighborhood would be so perfect for it!

  7. I adore an evening stroll. I used to do it a lot when I lived in Australia and I find it too cool in NZ, Oh I look forward to summer and my South Pacific vacation in January!

  8. I adore evening walks! They're the best I used to walk my dog every single evening for almost a whole year! :D
PS it's definitely one of the best things about Europe itself as well!
