Olive trees are one of our favorite arboreal treasures, so Sean couldn't resist a plein-air moment capturing one of these 400 year-old beauties in Arcos.
In fact, if he had to live his life on Earth as a tree, he would be an Olive Tree. They thrive in warm, dry Mediterranean climates, and this makes Sean a very happy man!
What type of tree would you be?
A willow, I think... they're so sweet and sad. :-)
ReplyDeleteI just landed here via Ada and Darcy..., I very much would thrive in warm, dry Mediterranean climates..., but I think I'd have to be a palm tree, overlooking the sea.
ReplyDeleteI love photographs of artists at work - especially if you can see both the piece their working on and the subject/inspiration.
ReplyDeleteThis photo makes me sigh--simply beautiful. I think I would be a birch tree. I am such a New England girl! Besides, I love the Robert Frost poem "Birches."
ReplyDeleteMel, this is heaven!!
ReplyDeleteso...will you be thinking of making Andalucia, your second home?
:-)
What a beautiful thought about Sean, being an olive tree~ Your love for him is so poetic and real. You make life good and show such importance in the most simple way~ Thank you.

i love that you would be an olive tree!!! i WISH i could be a tree with gorgeous flowers or delicious fruit, but i would probably be a sap tree or something rather unglamorous. :(
ReplyDeleteI totally agree with Sean....Olive trees are simply gorgeous, I once saw a fantastic, very old one in Palma de Mallorca, with a very interesting story as well :o)

ReplyDeleteMagnolia tree - ornate, elegant and beautiful!
ReplyDeleteA Spanish moss. Yes, or a magnolia.
ReplyDeleteI'd be a willow tree, without a doubt. They're my favorite - I loved hiding in them when I was a child...fabulous photo and so glad you're still having a great trip!
ReplyDeleteI would like to be an olive tree! If I had a farm, I would grow olive trees. I love its fruits and all the gifts it brings--oil, soap, wood...the consummate tree of life!
ReplyDeleteJust love your blog ! It's a tossup ... Meyer Lemon tree or a Cypress Tree ( living over the ocean in Carmel of course !)
