Vista Vision

This is the vista vision that greets us from the courtyard of our Arcos Hotel - inspirational indeed.

  1. um, um, i am kinda speechless right now and fairly lost in your image ... but i would have to say that just down our lane, there is a spot where you look out over the field and the way it rolls and folds is so pleasing to me and i keep thinking that i ought to do a season study of it as it really is beautiful with each season ~
tell me you were there when they pulled open those big doors and let all that glory in!

  2. Wow, I'm with prairiegirl on this one! What a breathtaking photo!!
Most of my favorite landscapes have at least a bit of seascape in them. Since I was a kid I've loved that final rise of dunes on the road to the beach where I grew up--that last crest and then, suddenly, the ocean spread wide before me. It makes my heart leap every darn time. But I also love the farmland near where I live right now. One apple orchard in particular has views that make me melt. Thanks for this lovely, lovely post!

  3. Wow that is spectacular. I get architectural digest, and there are always advertisements for a company that sells antique Spanish doors just like the ones in your photo...I absolutely adore them and would just love to stay in a place like that. I tend to take photos of doorways too.

As for inspiration...when we go to the beach, I love the cliche beach sunrises...Matt and I get up before the crack of dawn, and now of course we bring little ms foo too, and we grab our tea and coffee and head down to the sand and watch the sun rise. I do find that inspirational!

  13. I have not met you guys yet but Micaiah updates me daily. I miss this view, it was our local coffee place and a time our little family would go and breath in Arcos Beauty, seems like a distant dream that we used to live there! I can just feel it all now, its all coming back to me that warm Spanish air sitting with our Cafe con Leche, ahhhhhhhh.
Zahara loved it there, all the animals, the space to run, she had so much fun.
Hope you are enjoying the retreat and the family who own the Cortijo, aren't they just a lovely family!
Maybe we will meet in the spring.

  24. Ok, I need to go there! This looks amazing! Is it in AndalucĂa? What is the name of this gorgeous hotel? I have only traveled in central Spain (Madrid, Salamance, Segovia, Avila), but am dying to visit the South. Thanks for the inspiration!
