She likes fresh flowers beside the bed.
She tells me they make her dreams sweeter. I believe her.
And for this reason alone, I will continue to fill my great-grandmother's pitcher full of the most fragrant and beautiful blooms I can find because it makes my crumb smile.
Simple little pleasures are what life is all about, non?

ReplyDeletethis is so beautiful..as are you.
simple. perfect.
have a lovely weekend, lovely.
I love this post and I can practically smell those garden roses through the screen. My mom used to sneak in my room on occasion and put a little bouquet of roses from her garden or pink carnations from the grocery store next to my bed. I was always so happy to wake up to that sort of sweet surprise. But what's really funny about the timing of your post is that Emerson and I just returned from her music class and there was a huge bouquet of blue hydrangeas for me and tiny pink one for Emerson sitting on our back porch. Compliments of my mom.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the golden light on those roses is pure magic.
ReplyDeleteI feel like I can smell those roses...so lovely.

Beautiful. I love fresh flowers by the bedside. That or candles.
ReplyDeleteI love this quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson...
ReplyDelete"Friendship isn't a big thing - it is a million little things."
Although I do feel that motherhood is a big thing, it's also a million little things... and this is a "little thing" that will stay with her forever :).
Oh me too...I just love that your GGM's pitcher is near to her too, how lovely.
